Polling Averages Are Gamed And Untrustworthy

by

Nate Silver made a name for himself by averaging polls. For starters. Averaging polls, with very diverse methodologies isn’t scientific. Now the poll averages are being gamed by the interested parties.

You can’t evaluate a poll without evaluating the methodologies. Some of these polls are using really small samples.

If you watch the polls systematically you will soon learn to distinguish the Republican pollsters from the Democrat orientate polls. If you watch them routinely you will learn really quickly the new polling entities that appear seemingly out of now where at the most manipulative times in the election cycle.

The best rule of thumb when interpreting polls is to not just look at the results. Take one poll at a time, carefully understand the poll’s methodology. And pay more attention to these factors than the top number conclusions in the poll.

NOT ALL POLLS ARE EQUAL!
